RGSS Sculpture Garden
The raised
concrete flowerbeds were fabricated by the Ryan Neale’s E.O.P (Exploring
Opportunities Program) construction class. The three concrete standing figures
were created over a three week period by the grade 11 visual arts class. The
bird houses were donated to the Eco Club and were incorporated into the statue’s
design. Nine students worked in teams of three to create plaster molds of their
classmates. The plaster molds were positioned on their pedestals and cast in
cement. A metal rebar armature strengthens and connects each statue to its
base. The Eco Club
acquired the two oak trees and plants through a Green Apple grant and donations
by our community partners.
